Peckett 0-4-0ST no. 1376 was built at the Bristol works of Peckett and Sons Ltd. She worked all her life at the British Aluminium Company works in Fife, hence her name "B.A.C. No. 1". She worked into the 1970s, becoming somewhat of a celebrity amongst followers of industrial steam locomotives, and on retiring was bought by Mr Ian Frazer who amongst other locomotives had also purchased LNER D49 4-4-0 'Morayshire' (Now at Bo'ness) and 46464.
She worked into the 1980s at the Lochty Private Railway in Fife, but this preserved railway sadly closed in 1992. Now needing extensive boiler surgery, she was bought by Steve Pegg from Ian Frazer's son, Ian sadly having passed away in 1990.
Too small to be of any real use on the Caledonian Railway's trains, she will nevertheless be restored at some point but has to take her place in the overhaul queue behind the larger more powerful engines. However, she is complete and currently stored safely undercover in Brechin loco shed.
