Father's Day FREE Steam train driving Offer*

This father's day give Dad a treat and bring him along to the Caledonian Railway. As well as the normal steam train trips to Bridge of Dun, we are planning to steam our 'Barclay 0-4-0' locomotive, shown in the picture.

Dads that are accompanied by their offspring can have a go at driving the Barclay up and down one of our sidings under the close supervision of a qualified member of staff, for FREE!* When travel tickets are bought at the ticket office, Dads will be given a FREE driver's pass*. Extra passes, or a pass for those not accompanied by their offspring can be purchased for £10 at the ticket office. 

Also, for an extra £25 you can purchase a 'footplate pass'. This allows Dad (or yourself!) to ride in the cab of the steam locomotive for the journey to Bridge of Dun and back.

Please note there is limited availability of both of these services and they cannot be booked in advance. We recommend you allow plenty of time at the railway in order to take part in the steam locomotive driving.

* Free driver's pass when one adult and at least one extra ticket (adult or child) purchased. All products and services advertised are subject to availability.  Please note that that steam engines are not the cleanest machines, and you should wear old clothes (or overalls) and stout shoes if intending to partake in this offer.
