Our Barclay 0-4-0 saddle tank, built in 1926, leaving Bridge of Dun on a service train. The rosebay willowherb (on the the left of the picture) turns every embankment pink over the summer!

D5314 is our BR Class 26 Bo-Bo main line diesel locomotive, currently in full working order. It was built in 1959 and has been restored to the BR livery of the early 60s. It is in regular service.

It is seen here at the head of a train at Bridge of Dun station.

The Barclay 0-4-0 hauling a Santa Special through frosty countryside. This locomotive was originally in industrial use, but has proved sturdy and reliable in passenger service. It has recently undergone a full overhaul (see below), and is now painted in original Caledonian Railway colours.

One of our BR Mark 2 coaches - 'Gladys'. This coach has been
fully restored to the original colours of early mark 2 coaches and named in memory of a long-standing member, Mrs Gladys Ross.

A "Santa Special" enters Brechin station in typically seasonal weather conditions, during December 1999. The train is being banked by the class 08 diesel on the rear of the train, but the steam engine seems to be doing the majority of the work in this picture!

A major restoration project: BR 2-6-0 Ivatt Class 2, built at Crewe in 1950, is being restored at Bridge of Dun by an independent group. Go to the 'Related Web Sites' page to find a link to a whole website about this loco.

Our other Class 26 diesel loco: 26035. She carries British Rail 'small logo' blue livery. 

This scene is taken at the entrance to Bridge of Dun station, and the line to Brechin can be seen curving away towards the horizon in the left background. The area the class 16 stands on was once the Strathmore mainline, which ran between Kinnaber Junction and Stanley, near Perth.

Austerity No. 6 leaving Brechin: This loco was the mainstay of our passenger services from 1990-98, but has now been withdrawn pending boiler and tyre repairs.

27001 at the head of a train at Bridge of Dun in 1989. This loco has now left the railway and is kept on the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway.
