New volunteer day - Saturday May 26th from 12 noon
Fancy trying a new hobby? If so, come down to Brechin station on Saturday May 26th and find out what a satisfying hobby volunteering on the Caledonian Railway can be. All our existing volunteers will be on hand to guide you round their departments, at both Brechin and Bridge of Dun stations.
A steam-hauled works train will leave Brechin station on Saturday afternoon, travelling slowly to Bridge of Dun but stopping at places along the line to where staff will demonstrate other aspects of the railway which need new volunteer assistance.
Brechin station will be open from 12.00 noon, but it would be helpful if we knew numbers in advance. Please telephone Simon Hickman (or email calrail@engineer.com) on 01382 220577, or mobile 07951 016226 to let him know if you are attending. You will need stout footwear and old clothes, and will be required to wear a high-visibility waistcoat (supplied by us) when in non-public areas. Due to insurance requirements you need to be over 16 years old, but we still welcome younger volunteers. If you are 16 or younger please telephone or email to find out how you can help.
