Many thanks to all those who travelled on our Santa Specials. Unfortunately the freezing conditions this morning brought us problems, including the carriage brake blocks freezing on. This gave rise to some delay, and if you were affected we sincerely apologise. We look forward to seeing all our loyal customers in 2005!

Another high quality railway Christmas meal in the Caledonian Hotel yesterday. Some excellent after-dinner entertainment was provided by Andrew Kennedy and a wide range of slides, and chairman Andrew Webster (below right) who entertained us with some traditional music.

A good turnout for today's Santa Specials, with more to come next weekend. Above left, Santa greets the crowds disembarking at Brechin, while (above right) Steve Pegg concentrates as he brings another full train into the terminus at Brechin.

Below; even the model railway helpers were festive today. Graeme Muir (left) and Andrew Pegg are seen here. Graeme's excellent website continues to be updated with some great pictures from the railway, including this terrific photo.

Volunteers on the railway today, for the first of 2004's Santa Specials....

Left to right: Diesel group stalwarts Ross and Blair, in a festive hat. Stationmaster Mike Jackson, Diesel driver Ken Joy and Company Chairman Andrew Webster.

Above left; Steve Pegg wondering if his wig has fallen in the fire. Right, Steve and Guard Jim Wilkie.

Left: The pway department have been working hard on the latest relay. Here is a driver's eye view of the new track from "Harlaxton". This relay means we can now run at line speed over Arrat crossing.

Above right: Harlaxton waits to leave Bridge of Dun with the final train of the day.

Above; preparations for Christmas at Brechin. The annual lineside Christmas tree felling ceremony took place, and the lucky tree was then propelled to Brechin on a rectank. It will be erected in the booking hall, along with all the rest of the Christmas decorations. We have a private charter train next Saturday, which the station needs to look its best for.  In the photo on the left, Ross McGregor, Mike Jackson and Gail Meikle can be seen loading the tree.

A few hours later(below), we have a booking hall full of Christmas spirit..... Trafalgar Square may be upset at Brechin Railway Station stealing their thunder this year!
